Transfer Students

Transferring schools can be a daunting process, but my transition to Virginia Tech was seamless thanks to the faculty and students of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. The advisors were accessible and took care to make certain that I understood all of the procedures and class options, the students were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the administrators immediately and continuously presented me with opportunities to become involved in the college. As someone coming in as an outsider, I was surprised at how quickly I was integrated into the college. Now, as a College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences Ambassador, I enjoy playing an integral part in giving that same welcome to new transfers through transfer orientations, open houses, and the Transfer and Freshmen CONNECT dinner. The same faculty and students who welcomed me so warmly when I first arrived became the people with whom I learned, researched, and played.
